America’s been bothering me so much lately I’m seriously contemplating moving to another country within the next decade or so.

The fundamental principle behind this country – that of the American Dream – seems to have eroded away completely, having been replaced by the virtues of complacency, entitlement, and idiocy. That core idea, one I cherish, is this: that when given the opportunity to work hard, you do so, and succeed.

Unfortunately, that immigrant hunger and mindset has deteriorated into this vacuous nothingness exemplified through headlines like PETA complaining about dead pigeons on a golf course, or Americans needing tutorials over how to use the redesigned milk jug. I hear these things, and I want to scream and pull out my hair: Why is everyone so fucking stupid? When people a) complain about “brutality” against pigeons, and b) need to be taught how to use a fucking milk jug, I remember how Lewis Black (the comedian) responded to the question of “Where do see yourself within the path America is taking?” He answered, “I feel like I’m the only on the Titanic that knows it’s sinking”.

Witness further, the conversations taking place between the politicians, the media and the people throughout the primary and election seasons. It jumps out again. The myopia of our politicians is nothing short of stunning – their policies and strategies are guided not by their efficacy, but by polls and election cycles. We’re watching the Chinas, Indias and Dubais overtake us for this very reason. Thus for example, as China invests in Africa, to ensure viable export markets for the next 50-100 years, America still has no plan of withdrawal from Iraq. Note, I didn’t even say we were going to withdraw – I’m saying we don’t even have a contingency outlining how we would.

But that’s not blaming politicians per se – they only reflect the degeneracy of the constituency they represent. People seem entirely incapable of initiative, of doing something for themselves. Why, let the government do it for us! Let the government pay for everything! Let the government go into deficit spending for trillions of dollars! JFK had that famous line, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” God, if we could remember that. Instead, we get shit like this - in advance of all communications going digital early next year, the government is subsidizing converter boxes for those with analog TV sets. Isn’t that just absolutely enlightening? I had no idea tax dollars contributed to such a magnanimous governmental function: helping people watch their favorite TV shows. That right there - front and center - is a microcosm of why America is kicking and thrashing its way into irrelevancy.

Did you know obama spent about 730 million dollars for his campaign? McCain spent 333 million dollars for his campaign. Gasp.
America complains so much about the lack of money and so forth when we are the ones putting our money in the wrong pockets.

Oh the things you learn in class..
